In keeping with our multi-lingual world, St Nicholas Cathedral has been offering Modern Greek classes for children for more than 90 years. Saturday morning classes for children run from September to June, with adult classes starting in October and ending in May. There is a yearly tuition fee.
Kindergarten class time is from 11 am to 12:30 pm, while the first thru sixth levels meet from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. Adult classes are from 10:00 am to 11:30 am.
Classroom emphasis is on speaking, reading and writing Greek, with Greek culture and Orthodoxy integrated into the curriculum.
The Diocese of Pittsburgh offers a Biblical Greek class at St. Nicholas one night a week. Classes are run for ten weeks each in the fall and spring.
For more information or to register for any of these classes, contact Maria Stamoolis at 412.963.7283.
